Scarecrow
As a young child, Jonathan Crane was subjected to sick and twisted fear experiments conducted by his own father. Emotionally scarred and mentally unstable from this ordeal, Crane spent his childhood in fear until he had a major realization: if he could control fear, it would never control him again. Over time, his interest in fear became an obsession. After graduating college with a PhD in psychology and specializing in phobias, Jonathan Crane began experimenting on others, exposing them to a hallucinogenic fear toxin he developed that brought their worst nightmares to life. Although Batman has developed a number of remedies for these toxins, Crane is constantly working to improve his formula to create even more potent and lethal versions.
