Emperor's Royal Guard
The Emperor's Royal Guard, also known as the Imperial Royal Guard and Imperial Guard, alternately referred to as the Crimson Guard, and known as the Red Guard in the Galactic Republic, was the personal bodyguard of the Galactic Emperor and formerly the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic. Besides strict requirements for size, strength, intelligence, and loyalty, only the most capable soldiers in the Imperial military qualified for service in the Royal Guard. The Imperial Royal Guard was also occasionally deployed to protect members of the Imperial Ruling Council, such as Mas Amedda and Darth Vader.
